Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 29, 2026

Moli is built for families. We collect only what we need to create safe, personalized stories, we do not sell personal information, and parents stay in control of child profiles, consents, exports, and deletion.

1. Who we are

Moli is a personalized storytelling app provided by ExceedX AI ("Moli," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the Moli iOS app, website, and related services (the "Service").

Moli is intended for parents and guardians to create and manage stories for children. A child should use Moli only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Parent account information: email address, authentication provider, password credentials for email accounts, adult attestation, birth year, subscription status, and consent records.
  • Child profile information: the child's name, age range, interests, custom interests, preferred story length, and related settings chosen by the parent.
  • Story information: prompts, generated story titles and text, cover art, audio narration, timestamps, story length, and app settings needed to generate and display stories.
  • Voice information: if a Pro subscriber chooses voice cloning, we process a parent-authorized voice recording, display name, duration, processing status, and the provider voice identifier needed for narration.
  • Technical and security information: device and network metadata such as IP address, request identifiers, user agent, logs, crash or diagnostic details, and rate-limit information.
  • Communications: messages you send to support or to the Moli team.

We do not ask children for direct contact information. We do not run third-party advertising in Moli, and we do not use the iOS advertising identifier.

3. Children's privacy and parental control

Moli is designed around parent-managed child profiles. Parents must create the account, attest that they are an adult, accept the current Terms and Privacy Policy, and control optional feature consents.

Parents can review, export, update, and delete information associated with their account and child profiles in the app. Deleting a child profile removes the profile and related stories. Deleting an account removes the parent account, children, stories, consent records, subscription records, and voice records from our active systems, subject to limited backups, legal, security, fraud-prevention, and accounting retention needs.

If you believe a child provided information to Moli without appropriate parental permission, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to review and delete it.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and manage parent accounts and child profiles;
  • generate, personalize, save, read, and narrate stories;
  • provide optional Pro features, including premium voices and voice cloning;
  • process subscriptions and app entitlement status through Apple;
  • enforce safety filters, moderation rules, and age-appropriate story constraints;
  • record and honor privacy, AI-sharing, and voice-cloning consents;
  • provide support, data export, account deletion, and service notices;
  • secure the Service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability;
  • comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and security of families, Moli, and others.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as needed for the Service and for the purposes described below:

  • Service providers: hosting, storage, authentication, email, logging, security, payment processing, and customer support providers that help us operate Moli.
  • AI and voice providers: providers that generate stories, narrate stories, or create parent-approved cloned voices.
  • Apple: for App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, subscriptions, refunds, and account management.
  • Google: if you choose Google Sign-In.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We require service providers to use information only for the services they provide to us and to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.

6. AI and voice features

Moli uses AI providers to create and narrate stories. Before story prompts and child interests are sent to AI providers for story generation, the app asks the parent for AI-sharing consent. Parents may revoke this consent in Settings, which stops future AI story generation unless consent is granted again.

We minimize what is sent to AI providers. For story generation, Moli uses an internal child alias where practical instead of sending the child's real name. Story prompts are screened for unsafe topics before generation, and generated stories are checked before they are saved or shown.

Voice cloning is optional, limited to Pro subscribers, and requires separate parent consent. It should be used only with a voice the parent has the right to provide. After a voice is enrolled with the voice provider, Moli deletes local raw voice uploads and keeps only the voice record and provider voice identifier needed to use or delete that voice. If no provider enrollment is configured, Moli may retain a processed local reference file until the parent deletes the voice or account.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide Moli, honor your choices, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Parents can delete individual child profiles, stories, voice recordings, or the entire account in the app. Account deletion removes active account data and related content. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, audit records, fraud-prevention records, tax/accounting records, or where retention is legally required.

8. Your privacy choices

Parents can use in-app controls to:

  • review and update child profiles;
  • export account data;
  • delete child profiles or the account;
  • grant or revoke AI-sharing consent;
  • grant or revoke voice-cloning consent;
  • manage subscriptions through Apple.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. To exercise a right, contact us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authentication, access controls, signed media URLs, encryption in transit, data minimization, consent records, and logging practices intended to avoid raw child identifiers where possible. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International users

Moli is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws than your country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as appropriate, such as through the app, website, or email. If a change requires renewed consent, we will ask for it before the affected feature is used.
